A Clean Bill of Health...

Hello! The visit to the pediatrician went very well today! Here's the particulars:

Weight: 9 lbs 9.5 oz (25-50% percentile)

Length: 22.5" long (75th-90th percentile (basketball player))

Head Circumference: 38.8 cm (50-75th percentile)

All are very normal and very good. We also had to fill out a form regarding his developmental milestones and he had eclipsed all the 0-1 month and many of the 2-3 month milestones, examples being:

Lifting head up to a 45 degree angle while on his belly, tracking sounds with head movement to find sound, "coos and ahhs", coordinated movements with all appendages, startling to loud noises outside of his immediate area, etc.

Also, I told her about the UNC study and she said that it didn't surprise her. Also she said with his progress both physically and developmentally, we should be very optimistic about his long term future. That is, we should feel very comfortable that he'll be OK without any challenges. That was such a good thing! She told us to keep up with the Mylanta and Prevacid for his reflux and to expect changes soon on his feeding habits (more efficient) and he should start smiling more in the next few weeks! How exciting!

Afterwards we stopped by Emmy's office at St. John's and he got to meet her co-workers. They were quite impressed with his hair!

So here he is tonight helping Mama cook a "Bertolli Quick Gourmet Dinner" (which was really good):

That's all from here...the big Neurologist appointment is on Friday...we'll let you know how it goes!

We were shocked today...

....to hear this on the TV about babies.

I taped it with the video camera, watch below:

So with that being said, can it possibly, possibly be true that Aidan's whole ordeal was normal...and that his seizures were from the subarachnoid bleed (the one that was caused by the movement through the birth canal). Emmy and I had prayed and hoped that for someway possible that the other 3 bleeds were just a normal result of a vaginal birth, now, with this study by the University of North Carolina, maybe, just maybe this could be the case with our little one! How excited we are that this could possibly be the case!

Now on a more sour note, our main computer just crashed...getting some sort of bootup error, that's not good, at least we've backed up all the important photos and documents downstairs on Computer #3, and we have the laptop here to blog and check email with! Whew...what would we do!

Hey, you gotta check out Emmy's Aunt Dawna, Uncle Tommy and Cousin Trey and Josh's blogsite (Parsley's Place) (See Link on the left hand column). I've helped them out tonight and put a video of Trey (the baseball star) crackin' some homers during a High School home run derby contest. If I remember correctly he did pretty well, at the very least, top ten in the state of Tennessee!

And for our fun....here is the man in a milk coma today:

Have a great night everybody...stay warm if you're in the 'Lou (supposed to be 5 tonight!)

Ty, Em, Aid, and Al

And a Good Morning to you!

Good Morning from chilly St. Louis,

Everything is continuing to go great for the Frost Fam and BabyAidan. Yesterday, he and Mom took a trip to "The Devil's Pharmacy" aka Walgreens to pick up a new prescription for his reflux. Aid's now on Prevacid and can also take Maalox if there is an urgent need. We tried it out yesterday, and although the spit up really didn't stop too much, his reaction was way better, i.e. no "supersonic" crying (supersonic is when his mouth is open like he's crying, but there's no sound coming out!) Dr. Mayer said that it takes about 5-7 days for the Prevacid to get theraputic in his system, so we'll see.

Other good news, Emmy paid off her car!! And still has good value to it! So..... Maybe in the next couple of months, we'll get a newer, more "cool Mom" car or SUV for her! Baby Aidan's pushing for a Nissan Murano or a Honda Pilot. Daddy's pushing for an Acura MDX, but I don't think Boeing's going to help us out on that one! :(

Here's some pictures from his day yesterday! He was all decked out for his big trip to "Devil-land" (P.S. I hate Walgreens, if you haven't already figured it out!)

It's Cold Outside!

We are definitely having our share of cold weather this winter here in Missouri- or as I like to refer to it- Misery. Aidan had a big day on his official one month birthday. He bundled up in his bear outfit and we rode along as Daddy did the weekend errands like Target, Costco, and the grocery. We like to ride along to keep Ty company in between stops. Plus, it gets us out of the house without being exposed to germs.

We have a big week this week with a pediatrician appointment Wednesday and a neurologist appointment on Friday. Please keep Baby Aidan in your prayers for his EEG on Friday. If all is normal, we may be able to get rid of the monitor and his seizure medicine! How wonderful that would be! In the meantime we are looking for a change in his reflux medicine. The Zantac just doesn't seem to be doing the trick and he is pretty cranky about it. So, we need all prayers we can get!

Here are some pics of our little bear today:

Have a great week everyone!

A Couple of Jumbo Jets Cleared for Takeoff...

Well, another day has passed and Aidan is doing great...he, Mommy and Daddy took a nice long nap this afternoon to try and catch some zzz's. After that, he had a marathon feeding of 53 minutes then went downstairs and tried flying with his JUMBO JET for the first time, of course, when you fly your Jumbo Jet, you've gotta be wearing your Jumbo Jet outfit that Daddy got him! Also, he had his pre-flight instructions from his Blue Angel Teddy Bear as they watched his airplane mobile spin around in his "Flight Briefing Room" aka crib. Aidan you are cleared for take-off in your Jumbo Jet...well...in a year or so!

Of course, after a long day of flying, there's just no place like being on Mommy's shoulder!

Have a great night!

Ty

PS: Our good friends Aaron and Nicole found out that they are adding another boy to their fleet come this June! Congrats guys!

A Day of Firsts!

Well, well...was yesterday a fun day or what! We were blessed with clear skies and a daytime temperature of 60! Degrees! It was a little windy, so we buddled the little guy up and took our first outside stroller walk! This was something that we had been looking forward to for so long, just to get out of the house and walk through the neighborhood (which was nearly a daily ritual during the warm months of Emmy's pregnancy).

Mr. Aidan got to meet our next door neighbors, Bill and Lara and listened to Allie go barking insane the two times we walked past another dog during our 45 minute trek. Here we are...crusin'!

And......Auntie Elizabeth came over last night to watch Aidan for a few hours, which allowed Daddy and Mommy to go out to dinner alone for the first time! It was also the first time that we had left him...ever...and the first time Emmy had gone anywhere of distance away from Aidan since we brought him home!! We went to Pujols5, Albert Pujols' (St. Louis' and probably Major League Baseball's best player) restaurant....it wasn't great food or service, but it was nice to spend a few hours alone with my beautiful wife. So many thanks to Elizabeth, I hope you weren't lying to us when you said he was "good"!

Well, it's cold here again today, so we'll probably spend the day inside doing homework and taking care of the munchkin!

Have a great Saturday!

Ty, Emmy and Aidan!

PS: I also updated Aidan's Book Club with some new selections from Grammy's P and T, linked up all our videos so far (just look along the left column!) and added some more pictures to our Flikr Site! Check 'em out.

Happy Day Baby A!

It's one month (well kinda, Emmy says four weeks, I say one month, in reality it's whatever we want it to be!) and here is a little video and some pictures of the "Man of the Hour" today!

OK the BIG News today is that he got to use his bathtub for the first time....................and he LOVED IT!!

Have a great night!
Ty, Emmy, Aidan and Allie

One Month....Done!

Well this morning at 4:14AM, Aidan was sleeping peacefully in his Pack-n-Play as he crossed over the one month threshold of life! Congrats Baby A!

He and Mom are doing so well, and we are very happy to have him here with us!

Not much other news to report...so here he is "Mr. One Month!"

Does he love that Airplane mobile or what? Look at that smile!

Have a great day everyone!

The Weigh in!

So I went out and bought a scale today to see how Baby A was progressing. As typical neurotic first time parents, we were just curious to see how well he has been eating and whether or not Emmy's milk supply was sufficient to his needs....well...he weighed in at 9 lbs 6 oz, which is an increase of 10 oz in one week! This is excellent, excellent news.

Here's some pics to celebrate our hefty, "adorable" little man:

Have a great night!

Graduation!

We've graduated out of Newborn Diapers! Yeah!

The little man is doing great tonight, he got his bath and then he went right to sleep after a quick pit stop for milk!

I should mention too that last night we had a breakthru event with him following Emmy with his eyes and head as she walked out of the room and then back in again....he did it 3 times! Awesome developmental milestone guys, really important for our peace-of-mind about his long-term health!! Yeah Aidan!

Here he is today being a good boy for Mama! You can see that he's really lost a lot of his hair (around his eyebrows and receding hair-line):

Later Gator!

Snowy Sunday

Little Snowy here...got about 3.5 inches of heavy, wet snow last night...

It was so nice to see our friend "Auntie" Elizabeth again for dinner yesterday...she had so much fun with the little man and little gal...as seen here:

Aidan was in the festive snow mood, so we bundled him up in his "How to Make a Snowman" outfit that Elizabeth got him and had a fun day!

That's all from here...have a great night!

Dancin' Machine!

He's a "Dancin', Dancin', Dancin' Machine, Watch him get Down!"
_
Hey, Hey! The Going Home from the Hospital Outfit Now Fits! Sooooo, we looked and looked for something hip for Aidan to wear on his trip home from the hospital, yet when he was ready to come home the outfit was too big....well today we tried it again and it works....it works!

Here he is, being a wonderful little man! Have a great night everyone....we'll see you and the snow tomorrow morning!

Ty, Em, and Baby Aidan!
