Spirit Week...The Last Big Hurrah as a Kindergartner!!

Well the big guy unbelievably is almost through an entire school year...man how time flies.  He's almost a 1st grader!  Whoa Nelly!!!

This past week it was Spirit week at his school and each day was something special for him to do.

Monday was Crazy Hair Day!

That's some crazy hair!! But not as crazy as some of his classmates, they actually colored their hair!  Blue!!

Tuesday was Tie Die Day, Wednesday was Crazy Hat day and Thursday was....Field Trip to the St. Louis Zoo day!!

Mommy and Ethan joined the big guy.

They gave each Kindergartner a scavenger hunt list in which they had to find animals, from A to Z, Mommy and Aidan found every one but X, N, Y, Q and U.   Nice job!

Big guy and little guys petting the goats...

And Mr. Fearless Ethan brushing the goat!

They said the elephants were crazy!  Playing in the water and wrestling around!

Cat Scratch Fever!

And it's Best Friend Jacob helping out!

The whole class ready for a fun day!

Jacob's Brother Benjamin was there too...here's the clan!

Aid was so stoked that they got to pick who they wanted to ride with on the bus on the way home...of course...

He chose best friend Jacob. :)

Friday was the Grand Day...Spirit Day...including the Spirit Day Parade and a day full of games!

Daddy drove down for the parade and got some great pics.  The theme of the Spirit Week was celebrating the 80th year of St. Joseph School. Each grade was supposed to dress up like a certain decade, with exception of the Kindergartners, who were supposed to dress in "Happy Birthday" outfits!

First, the sweet rides the School Admins rode in...

Monsignor Callahan in the Aston Martin

Father Kevin in the Lambo...although don't know why he had a horse head on...he's weird. Seriously.

The principals, including Sister Maria Christi in the Bentley.

Bring on the Kindergartners!!!

There's the big guy!  (and Jacob again )

Nice Happy Birthday Hat!!!

Best buds posing with their class...

And the oversized Grocery Cart Car...whoa.

That's it, fun week last week for the big guy...This year has been a blur, can't believe its almost over.  Aidan has learned an enormous amount of things...he's reading better than ever (we've been told 4th grade+ level)...it's awesome...he just loves learning!

Have a great night,
Ty, Emmy, Aidan and Ethan

A Birthday and Mother's Day Weekend of Fun!

Hey hey, I'm old! Boo!

Well after last weekend's whirlwind trip to San Diego, things got right back into the swing of things with the visit of Grammy T, Aunt Natalie and our cousin Ophelie from France this weekend.  It a great weekend and wonderful birthday with family and we did some fun things together too!

Let's get started!

Friday, Daddy took off work and Aidan had a in-service day so all of us (Grammy, Natalie and Ophelie) headed to the St. Louis Zoo for some zoo fun times!  Now if you would have asked me if I would ever go to the stinky zoo for my birthday, I would have said never in a million years, but now with kiddos they like it, and I like seeing them have fun.  The zoo was crowded, but we got some good shots of the animals.

Ethan's favorites!!

E and the Leopard

Great shot of a Black Rhino!

Our zoo just had a new baby elephant, I'm not sure that this is her...but it is a baby amongst those giant adults!

Here we are on the zoo train!

And the trip wouldn't be complete without a ride on the carousel!!

Now, Friday night was a big event too for the boys as they had their first baseball games...at the same time!  So Mommy and I were running between fields to let the boys know they were well supported!

Big Batters!!

Aidan bonding with his team....

And warming up that arm...

Swwwwing Batter!!  Keep those eyes open Mookie!!

There's a good hit!  Go Ethan Go!!!  Nice form....if we could just get him not afraid of the ball, he's got it folks!  Indeed!!

Made it to 1st base!!

Aidan has it too...but he's a lefty...yep, writes, throws and does about everything else, but hits left...and hits left very well!!

Well it wouldn't be complete without some video.  A few notes...first, yes I had goobers on the camera lens.  Second, listen to the absolute dirt ball, piece of work Missouri in-bred parents cheer that their kids' team got Ethan "out" at the end of E's hit.  They don't even have outs in Kindergarten and Preschool baseball.  In fact, you're lucky if they run to first base correctly...so cheering an out...you are white trash.  Nuff Said.

Now onto Daddy's Day....we went to our go to Mexican place for dinner, which as always was fantastic.  Being it was my first birthday there, my boy Javier, brought the gang over for the celebratory singing of "Felices Cumpleanos"...little did I know that he had something up his sleeve....

Yada yada...happy birthday...

Yep, he did it....I still love ya La Carreta...best Mexican food in the world.

No Daddy Birthday is complete without a DQ Ice Cream Cake....THE BEST!!

Aid had another baseball game on Saturday, this time we had him rockin' the stripes!!  Nice...

Mother's Day was a cool but beautiful day here.  We had brunch at Old Hickory and got all dressed up to look great!

It's us!!!

The Frost's and French!

Hey nice Indian Pashmina :)

The big guys on a gorgeous day at the Links.

Grammy brought some gifts to play with and the weather was just about right to fly them...

Here we go....Let's go Fly a Kite...

Up to the highest height....

Hang on to it Mooks!!

Angry Birds...flyin' high..

Captain Ethan did awesome...watching it sail!

It was WAY up there, I had all the string out!

Then the wind died down and it was bubbles time...and of course...

Baseball time again!?

That's it, a great weekend and birthday.  Thank you to Mom, Natalie, and Ophelie for coming over and seeing us.  Thank you for making my Birthday fun and exciting and we can't wait to see you again!!!

Love you all.

That's all for tonight,  Have a great night,
Ty, Emmy, Aidan and Ethan

More San Diego...More Fun!

Day number Three in San Diego had us scheduled for likely the biggest attraction in San Diego, Sea World!

The boys had never seen porpoises or orcas (dolphins or killer whales in our generation's terms)...so it was a cool experience seeing the boys get excited for these cool creatures!

So SeaWorld Parks are closely affiliated with Sesame Street, in fact the same parent company also runs Sesame Place in Philadelphia that we visited about two years ago.  Here's one of their favorite rides, Elmo's flying fish..

Similar to the Dumbo ride at Disney, the big guy loved taking the Elmo fish straight up!

This is Abby Cadabby's Starfish Spin....I don't think Mommy and I can do this ride any more...way too much spinning.  We saw another parent (Dad) get in and spin that thing like crazy and when he got out, I swear he was going to get sick.  Likely the last time he will ride a spinny ride again too :)

Family Spin Time...

I'm always on the look out for cool nature and we spotted this tree...really neat tree huh?

Ahh Dolphin time!

These guys were cool...lots of head shakin' and Daddy even got to pet one!

Lunch time at Shipwreck Reef...I liked the containers Aid's lunch came in.

So easily one of the highlights of SeaWorld was Shamu and her friends! Those things are amazing and the fact that they can train them to do these tricks...unreal!

Big Air!!

Big Splash!!

They said if you don't want to get wet, stay out of the "Soak Zone".   The people in the front that were about to get wet...they were in the Soak Zone.

Awesome!!  Orcas are cool looking animals!

Double Orca Flip!

They had another area, near the Manta Rollercoaster (which was awesome BTW) that you could pet Bat Rays... Both boys, especially Aidan, got to touch (and had the courage) to touch a Ray!!

SeaWorld has tons of shows, I think we watched at least 4...this one is the Dolphin / Whale Show...they had a total of 14 dolphins performing!

Keeping with the animal theme, we also watched the Pets Show Spectacular!  They had all sorts of animals running across the stage and doing tricks!

And next to the Sea Lion show...this was pretty impressive.. They really get them to act like humans!

Check this video!

It was pretty rainy when we were at SeaWorld (that was OK though since it kept the crowds down)...so we didn't get a chance to play on this awesome Sesame Playground...oh well...

We left SeaWorld mid-afternoon and headed down into San Diego, across the huge Coronado Bridge and out to Silver Sand Beach so the family could "dip our feet" into the Pacific Ocean.  The weather was nasty (amazingly almost identical to when I was there alone in December of 11)...but we toughed the rain and winds and put our feet into the ocean!!

The Big Guy....slowly testing it out!

Mommy and E did a quick step in and step out...

Not a day to lay out at the beach...unreal my two times to San Diego (a place where the weather is suppose to be amazing) and I've had crappy weather!

Here we go!  Now we are in the Pacific!!!

For dinner I had us planned for some pizza up in a little beach town called Mission Beach. We ate at Luigis and walked back up to ocean for a few pics....here's the best one we got....Brothers!

Monday was our day out of California and we only had about 3 hours before we needed to head to the airport.  It was pouring (again), but we toughed it out and headed to the USS Midway for some big boat fun.  The boys got to wear headsets that explained what they did on the boat in the various parts...and as quick as it was, it was a fun hour or so.

Big Aid by the Carrier's Commendation

Couple of Fighter Pilot guys sitting in the Squadron Ready Room.

We toughed out the rain and wind and got one picture on the deck...I told the boys to stand under the wing to stay dry :)

On the way home, the big guy and his "technology"...Mookie mooks is sleeping. :)

When we travel, we travel big...in all count, 9 bags! Whoa!

So that's our big trip! Thanks for reading.

Have a great day,
Ty, Emmy, Aidan and Ethan
