Where did Daddy go?

As I write this, Ty is flying from Dallas to Santa Ana to go to a conference for work. With a tearful goodbye from all, we wished Daddy a safe trip and a quick return. We will miss him tons, but we are already looking forward to greeting him late Thursday night at the airport.

So far we are getting by pretty good without Daddy......but Daddy does A LOT of stuff around the house that we are having a little trouble keeping up with. He mows the grass, packs lunches, waters the flowers and the garden, and helps with or makes dinner. Whew! He is a busy man and greatly missed.

Well, off to complete some more of the Daddy tasks....here's a pic of the little guy tonight showing off on how well he does on his tummy!

Love,

Wedding Time...Four Month Old Baby Aidan Style!

Yesterday the Frost Family Adventure undertook their first wedding together, which was also Mr. A's Four Month Birthday!!

The wedding was between Godmother Elizabeth's brother David and his new wife Madeline. It was a beautiful day and a beautiful ceremony at St. Stanislaus Church near Downtown. They had a full mass, with a string quartet, trumpet player and a full 4 part choir. Aidan slept through the whole ceremony except when the trumpet guy started out a song once, which scared him. Baby Aidan threw rose petals at them as they were leaving! There was some time before the reception, so we came back home and rested up a bit. Here's how we looked before heading out for the fancy dinner:

The reception was at the Ritz Carlton in Clayton and boy was it amazing! Daddy and Aidan buddied up using the Baby Bjorn. Although most people probably looked at me like I was an idiot (and that we were crazy to bring a 4 month old to the Ritz), but whatever. I needed to have my hands free to enjoy the party! Here's Daddy and Little Man at dinner!

DSC01645

The food was spectacular! They had a tomato and fresh mozzarella cheese salad topped with a Parmesan crust and drizzled in balsamic vinegar and in a bed of pesto for the salad. The main course was a cut of beef tenderloin topped with horseradish red sauce with a garlic marinated shrimp skewer. It was served on top of garlic mashed potatoes and acorn squash slices and asparagus wrapped in prosciutto. The cake was a white amaretto cake, layered with a chocolate mouse and covered with a butter cream frosting. Pretty darn good food...and a great reception. Baby A did pretty good through the whole thing, but he eventually found his breaking point and we had to leave around 9:45. We were bummed that we couldn't hold out until the dancing part of the night, but all in all, he was well behaved all day.

Here we are at dinner (with Aidan admiring the chandelier- this kid has expensive taste!) and the bride and groom for their first dance!

Ouchie!

Soooooo...Baby Aidan had his 4 month checkup with Dr. Mayer, his pediatrician, today. He also got 3 shots and a oral medication for Rotavirus. He did really well with the shots, cried hard a little bit, but fed with Mom afterward which made him feel much better. Here's his "ouchies"!

Poor Baby Aidan.

Now on for the good news!! Aidan weighed in at 14 lbs 12 oz. This puts him directly on the 50th percentile line, which is where he's been since birth. His length was, get this, 26". That's huge and put's him at the 80th percentile! Tall, dark and handsome, maybe?????? Anyways, we filled out the Denver Developmental Test again and developmentally he's at the 5 month old level. This prompted Dr. Mayer to say...."You know guys, he's going to be one of those kids that you'll look at and never know that he ever had any issues at birth. He's just doing so well and looks so good, I just can't see that he'll ever not be just a normal kid." Of course, we've prayed for that since day one, and ya know....with him doing so well, we have to expect that he will be a normal little happy, healthy and brilliant little man.

So here he is tonight...recovered from his shots and having fun with Daddy!

Have a great night everyone!!

Happy Tuesday!

Hi Grammy's, Grandpa's, Friends and Family,

This is Aidan. I thought I would post since Mommy and Daddy are busy doing some house chores tonight. I wanted to tell you that this week is the "Week of the Young Child" at my school. Yesterday was "Pajama Day". I wore my blue and green striped sleeper. And boy was I comfortable! My teacher Miss Holly and I watched the toddler parade outside of my room. I really liked the maracas! I also presented Mommy with this cool necklace that Miss Holly and I made. She LOVED it!!!

Today was "Spirit Day". Since I go to the Pear Room, we had to wear Green. So I wore Grammy P's bug outfit that she got me. Unfortunately, I had an accident in the bottom, so I had to change into my "Big Dino" green striped one-piece. Oh well!

Tomorrow is the "Diaper Derby". All my friends from the Banana, Apple and Pear rooms who are crawlers are going to compete to see who can go the fastest. Caden is our sole participant from our room, so we are all pulling for him, although he is a little devil and probably gave me the cold that I have right now :o(

Thursday is "Sensory Day". My teachers are going to bring in lots of things that we get to play with, like water and blocks and different types of soft things to touch. I'm really loving reaching out and grabbing things now, so I'm REALLY excited for this day!

Finally, Friday is "Beach Day". Mommy said that I can wear my tropical print swimsuit if it's warm. I can't wait, I'm so tan already. I think that all the chicks, like Kira, Ellie and Jayden are going to think I'm a hottie!!! Yeah!

Anyways, here's a couple pictures Daddy took of me tonight after my bath. I'm kinda getting sick of all these pictures, but I know that Mommy and Daddy are just trying to save the memory of me being such a little guy. I'm growing up so fast!!!

Goodnight and I love you all,

Aidan Matthew

Bless our Baby on His Baptism Day

Today Aidan received the sacrament of Baptism at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Cottleville. We were so lucky to have Grammy's T and P, Jim her friend and Elizabeth's parents Bill and Janet there to witness the big event.

Here is video of Aidan, Daddy, Mommy and Godmother Elizabeth taking part in such a special ceremony. I put it to music, since our audio didn't turn out too well.

It was a wonderful day. As you saw in the video, Aidan was so good during the actual Baptism. So funny how he yawned after getting the 3rd water. It was like he was saying, "Hey, isn't it early for my bath time???" He really was an angel today though. He slept in Daddy's arms all through the mass ceremony, through all the oils, and readings and such in the Baptism and finally woke up as we arrived at The Cheesecake Factory for our Baptism Lunch!! He looked so awesome in is "Jebus" outfit! Check him out.

So Long, Farewell, Aufwiedersehn Goodnight!!!

dsc01496

It's outta here!!! So long Mr. "Royal Pain in the You Know What" Heart and Breathing Monitor!!!! Emmy and I decided tonight that Aidan is just fine and doesn't need this cumbersome piece of junk anymore!! How 'bout that folks! It's going....going.....gone!!!

dsc01498

dsc01499

And with that I present to you Mr. Aidan Matthew Frost sleeping in his crib, with every possible sound/vibrating/entertainment machine that money can buy (not really...but really, in the first picture there is the Mommy Heartbeat sounds teddy bear to the left, the Fisher Price Aquarium Soother with moving fish straight on, his airplane mobile to the left, and finally the Graco Sound and Vibration Machine, vibrator-thingy is under his left arm to the right. Oh and out of sight is the CD player playing ocean waves. Quite a production for a 3 1/2 month old huh?). Whatever it takes to get him to sleep well in his new home.

Goodnight from St. Louis, and goodbye apnea monitor...forever!!

Ty, Em, and "Freebird" Aidan

PS: Blogger's Picture Uploading stinks....it took me 5 times to upload the pictures and it still didn't work, so I'm using WebShots tonight.

Reading Books and Having Fun!

Baby A was the best baby in daycare today! He took a nice 3 hour nap, then fed great when Mom came over. It's the fourth straight day that he's gotten stickers on his report card (you only get stickers if your a good baby, by the way). So we are soooo proud of how good he's been.

Tonight, here he is reading "Birthday Monsters" with Mom.

And chewing on his "Lovie".

And having his first dinner outside on the deck. Daddy made up cheeseburgers, baked potato fries, corn on the cob and Caesar salad...Yum, Yum!!!

I should say too that Baby A has done very well with his transition to his crib. He just lies in there piecefully and listens to the calming sounds of the ocean waves. We listen to that to, through his monitor....quite relaxing!!

Have a great night everyone,
Ty, Emmy, Aidan and Allie

A Great Day with Baby A!

We're so blessed to have everyday: good, bad, angry, sad, messy, and fussy day with Baby A, but today has to be one of my favorites.

We woke up a little late this morning (missed Church, sorry God :( )....but got to spend some wonderful time with our little man. Mommy was doing some work so Daddy and Aidan got out the Jumperoo for the first time. Granted, he's not really ready for it, but he's been doing so well holding his head up, I thought....well let's give it a try! He absolutely loved it!! Just sat there and talked and smiled and had a ball! See for yourself below!

Now we also got out a new outfit today, given by Jim, Grammy P's special (and special to us as well) friend in Tennessee! Check him out...is he not ready for the Buckin' Broncos at the rodeo or what!

That second one looks like he's really ridin' the rodeo, doesn't it with one hand off!?! Hang on to it Baby A, only need to stay on for 8 seconds!!!!

And some more after a long day on the ranch.

All you single ladies out there...check out that butt! And those Levis! Owwwwwww-Oooh!! Yeee-hawww!!

And yes..another big thing happened today...we tried him out in the high chair!! Check him out....still a little too small, but he held his head up good and was reaching out for his keys that were on the tray!

Thanks for letting me share our wonderful day with you! We love you all,

Ty, Emmy, Aidan and Allie!
