This is how WE roll!

We had quite the night on Monday. Our favorite Parents-as-Teachers lady, Sarah, came over on her monthly visit with us. Again for those who don't know, Parents-as-Teachers is a state funded service that has a parent come and visit new parents and teach them about the developments of their children as well as introduce us to new games, tricks, etc. that they have had experiences with their children.

Anyways, we were about half way through Aidan's lesson, which included making trail mix, matching up the items of a dinner table (knife, fork, plate, cup) with the appropriate location on a dinner mat, as well as other fun things....when....Mr. Ethan decided to "steal" the show.

We had kinda been watching him out of the corner of our eyes twist his hips and kick his legs over to one side. As we kept going with Aidan's lesson, Ethan kept getting closer and closer to a roll and then.....flip....he did it! Ethan rolled for the first time! By the time I had reached for the camera to take a picture, he had flipped back onto his back! Oh geez!

He did do it again with just a little assistance to tuck his arm under and I did get that time on camera...enjoy our little "high roller"!!!

Lots to Talk About!

Well it's been a really great weekend here for us in St. Louis. We really didn't have much planned so we were able to hang around the house, get some stuff done and hang out with our boys. There's so much to talk about that I'll break it up tonight into parts:

First up: Family!

Well, with great excitement we have put in plans to travel to Mexico again next year to Azul Beach Resort! As many of you know, we had a fabulous vacation there in 2008 and we are soooooo excited to go back. This time with two boys! The size of the resort, the beach palapas and the great food will surely satisfy our winter blues next April!

Next, today we did the church thing in the morning and the boys were WONDERFUL! Aidan nicely watched a little boy in front of us while Ethan slept for awhile and then woke up to have some quiet awake time! We came home and took a few pictures by our flowers and "fall stuff" on the porch.

Next: Daddy!

So Daddy got a little wild this weekend and decided to reorganize the basement for about the 5th time. Now that our main room is done, I figured we can kinda get things "settled" for awhile. That meant moving some things around, donating some things to Goodwill and reassembling our huge desk that used to be in our den upstairs. Talking to my Dad today I realized that I've never posted the "final" shot of our room downstairs with all the Ikea furniture that we got. Sorry Dad, you're probably the most important person that was involved in this room...don't know why I missed that! I took these tonight without flash, so they are a little grainy.

So the next thing for Daddy is a sour one. Friday and Saturday we had a lot of rain...a lot. That typically softens the soil and lets the moles have a field day on my yard. Well, they are back: Code Red. They are in the front yard. So what do we do...you get my big boy to go out there and "Stomp down some mole hills!" Yeah, Aidan! (Note: I put down some poison worms and I didn't see any activity today, fingers crossed)

Now, Mommy:

Well, I don't have much on Mommy that's because she's the most busy, most loving and nurturing person in the whole place. She's so busy all the time, feeding babies, doing bills, doing laundry, so for this spot, we'll just pause and tell our Mommy that we love her and we thank her for all she does to keep the Frost Family Adventure flying high...here are a few shots with her little "Milk Man".

OK, Aidan:

Gosh where do we start? That little man is so fun right now. He's doing great learning stuff all the time. Tonight at dinner he told us about wheels, and then said that wheels go around and around and that wheels are circles. This cognitive connection stuff that he's starting is so cool. He's getting to the point where we're teaching him how to spell his full name (he knows his first already), where he lives, and what his phone number is. Also, at church last week and I'm bummed that I didn't capture it but taking a picture while Mr. Boring Priest (you know the one Grammy T) is going on probably would have us damned to you know where. I digress, on his Magna-doodle he drew, clearly, a trolley engine. It had the rectangular shape, windows, and four sets of wheels...he also had the bow collector drawn too! (Betcha didn't know what that was did you)

Friday night we found a cheap soccer set at Target that included a ball and net...he played and played with it and was scoring goals like Christiano Ronaldo (Betcha didn't know who he is either, right? 2008's World's Best Soccer Player) Here he is doing his best GOOOALLL!

So any case, he's really getting to be a lot of fun and we're loving every minute of it!

Finally, Ethan:

This baby, I'll tell you...what a dream. Such a good boy, at this point he's very predictable, which is about the best thing you can say about a 3 and a half month-er. He's got his times where he's awake, happy and alert, others that he takes great naps (this afternoon nearly 4 hours!) and then just a personality that is so infectious..he just makes you smile and the HE smiles! Great stuff.

First, we got him the Bumbo tray for his Bumbo that we've been starting. He looks around, reaches for a few things and if you're lucky and quick you get a couple of smiles.

Next, Tummy Time. Aidan was not a big fan of Tummy Time (as most babies aren't) but Ethan does pretty good with it. He usually fusses when he gets tired, but for the first couple of minutes he's loving it. An important milestone is 90 degrees heads up laying flat...and...he's...got...it!

Today was beautiful here and since it was probably the last day of 80 degree weather, we broke Ethan's little summer dude outfit that Auntie Elizabeth got him and hung out on the deck.

And now...Raspberries and Laughs!!!

As you saw in the last post, A&E really love the bath and Mommy observed last night the first glimmer of them interacting with each other! Cool!

We are Back!

Whew...just when I thought it would be a calmer week, things got even more busy. Daddy had to host 3 Finnish Air Force officers and at least 5 US Navy folks all last week by himself, as all my other program people were in Finland. We attended the Cardinals game on Monday and had several other events through the week! Mommy too had a busy week, trying to catch up to speed and taking care of the two guys while Daddy was off working.

Throw in two visits from Grammy P and Jim as they made their way to and fro Iowa for a wedding and our video card blew up on this computer and I'd say we had a busy week!

So without further ado, here are some highlights!

First, the guys at bath time. Both LOVE the water. Ethan out grew (in length) the old bathtub we had so we had to get this lounger...I think he likes it! And Aid loves having fun with his little bro!

Three Months!

Saturday marked Ethan's three month mark! He's doing so well, feeding great, meeting all those milestones and most importantly (to two tired parents), he's a sleeper!

We celebrated the first "easy" weekend together by doing one of our all time favorite things to do in Missouri: Pick Apples.

We fired up the ol Pilot and headed to Augusta, Missouri to Centennial Farms to pick apples. We were a little bit early this year as only Jonathon's were ready to be picked...but that's OK, we love Jonathon Apples...perfect for apple crisp (see pictures and movie below). In any case, we walked through the barn and THERE. HE. WAS. It was none other than "Johnny Tractor". Yep folks, just like in Aidan's John Deere books (see here and here) Johnny Tractor (AKA "JT") was there and ready to pull us in a hayride out to the orchard. Aidan was beside himself...and what a nice surprise for the parents too!

Once we took the short ride out to the orchard, it was game ON! We were looking for the best apples and Aidan was a great searcher...he helped us find the best ones!

Next we headed to Augusta Brewing Company for lunch...everybody ate great and we headed home!

As we've been saying, Aidan's really gotten into cooking. I found a quick apple crisp do-it-yourself kit at the grocery and we were off! First, we had to peal the apples. Fortunately, we have this awesome contraption that not only peals, but also cores and slices, I'd call it the "Sledge-o-Matic". In any case, it was the perfect opportunity for Aidan to help us cook and he absolutely loved it. Just loved it. Here are some pictures and a video!

Aid got to keep the ends, since the skin didn't peal off well on those...so he's one of those chefs that samples as he cooks (I think those are the best kind!)

Finally tonight, more of the boys. Ethan's three months...my oh my how time has flown.

We've got big plans coming up this weekend, the "Great Forest Park Balloon Glow" is on Friday and we are going to head down with Aidan's buddy Ian and his family. We saw them for a little bit today at the park, so it'll be nice to go down and see the event with them. BTW, we've been here over 6 years and never been to this event (it's one of the biggest things to go and see in St. Louis)!
