Why Can't Every Weekend be a Holiday?

Whoa, what a fun and exciting holiday we had here at the FFA!

First, it was a scorcher!  In the mid-90's every day with hot sun and humidity....but that's OK, we spent 19 hours these past four days at our new summer hangout!  Old Hickory Golf Club!!

Yes, we took the plunge and signed up for a country club membership...while we only joined at the "Social" level (so no golf) we do get a swimming pool for the summer and it is awesome!  A really nice, quiet and relaxing pool, exactly what we'd been looking for since the boys got into swimming.  While pricey, it certainly was worth it this weekend! (Hence the 7, 5, 2, and 5 hour days at the pool!)

So without further ado....

Friday Morning, Emmy took the day off and the boys were #3 and #4 in the pool for the new season!

Mooks is ready!

Daddy took a half day and enjoyed the fun too!

Mohawk Warrior.

Sharing a Big Bopper Ice Cream Sandwich during break time.

Still one tooth gone (but now 2 loose!)

Mookie Spy Guy....both love wearing their hats in the pool...good for sun protection! :)

Aidan is a modern day fish...he's jumpin', divin' and swimmin' like crazy after 4 days at the pool.

And E too, he's startin' to feel it in the pool, but still loves to be with his Mommy :)

Memorial Day....#1 at the pool at 10AM.  Looking good Aidan!

Ethan ready to swim....these boys each had the earliest bedtimes ever this weekend.  Both in bed by 7:15P...they just completely wore out.

Cool Fam Sunglasses!

The new smile always shows that missing tooth!

On Sunday, we had tickets to the Cardinals' game.  It was really, really hot, but we got to see an amazing game. Yadier Molina hit a grand slam in the 1st inning off of one of the current best pitchers in baseball and there were two more homers as the Cards won 8-3!  We did our best to cheer them on in the heat but after the sun came out into our initially shaded seats, that was it!

You gotta love the huge Macaroni and Cheese outside the stadium!

Cardinals fans ready for a big win!

We had great shaded seats until the 5th inning when the sun peaked out over the deck above us!

Cardinals Boys!

The stadium looked awesome for the game!

Toothy

Mookie REALLY had a good time at the game. Talked about it all weekend!

Took a page from Grammy T with the washcloths soaked in ice water....really cooled everyone down!

But not as much as Dippin' Dots!

Family shot in some funny lighting...oh well.

You knew this was coming....two boys....baseballed out....

Mookie fell asleep holding his hat :)

That's all for tonight...have a great night!

Quick Weekend Post

Simple little post tonight from our adventures last weekend.

I took off a bit on Friday to take Aidan to sit with his future Kindergarten classmates in the reserved "Future Saints" section for the St. Joe's Cottleville Spirit Day parade!  It was really cool and Aid had a good time and even met a friend or two.

There's the Future Saint waiting for the parade!

After the Cottleville FD came through with their ladder truck, it was time for Monsignor Callahan to ride by and throw candy....and uh, yes, that's a 2009ish Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead he's in.  Guess how much that car costs???  Answer at the end of the post.

THIS will be our big guy next year, marching with his class!

And this is just your run-of-the-mill sooped up V8 Grocery Cart.....nothing to see here.

What!!  That thing is like 20 feet tall!

The boys are definitely getting into the swing of summer.  Out came the T-ball set recently and both LOVE hitting the ball.  Aid will probably play with his class next Spring!

That's all for tonight.  The car that Monsignor Callahan was in retails for about $452K. That's thousand...and that's the base price. Holy Freakin' Moses!!  That'd thing would pay for the tuition for 129 kids!!

Have a great night!

Happy Mother's Day to Mommy!!

Absolutely beautiful weekend here for us in St. Louis, a wonderful day today to celebrate the most important person in our little family.......MOMMY!!!

Mommy had a very nice day today (I think, at least!).  Church, lunch at one of her favs, Maggianos, then a long walk with the family and dinner on the deck outside.

Certainly we love Mommy very, very much.  And we can't forget our Grammies and Great Grammies, too.  We love them and miss them so!  But it won't be long, June and July will be here before you know it!

Now onto today....and some fantastic pictures of Mommy and those boys...

So I got this new camera for my B-Day and was trying some features, including a defocused background and burst shooting.  They both turned out awesome and I got some great candid and fun shots of Mommy and the boys.

I couldn't really pick between the three so I posted them all.  If I had to choose, the first is probably the best picture I've taken of Mommy and the boys...just splendid!

And then life got silly :)

Those boys love their Mommy....and they even have T-Shirts to say it!

Ok, so let's rewind back to Saturday.  If you notice (how can you miss it!) Aidan is missing something.  Saturday morning we were alerted that something was missing...his first tooth!!  And we can't find it!!!  Really, we looked everywhere through his bedding and I think he swallowed it. Oh well, the Tooth Fairy knows best and we made it known that she came in the middle of the night, found it and took it back to Toothland.  And left a note and some cash for him :)

"Hey, how'd that get in here?"

Smiley man.

Auntie E had presents for graduation so we tried out the silly string and colored bubbles in the confines of the yard with no clothes (because the bubbles stain bad).  They boys had fun!

Finally back to today, a pic leaving church and a very nice Mommy picture (do all these boys and Mommy ONLY take beautiful pictures together?!?)

Have a great night everyone!  Happy Mother's Day to Grammy P, Grammy T, Great Grandma June, Great Grandma Nancy, Aunt Janet, Grandma Jeannette and to all Mom's.  You are all so special and we love you!

Congratulations Aidan!

Today the big guy officially graduated pre-school, complete with festivities songs and fun!  While pre-school isn't really THAT much to graduate from, it was fun see he and his classmates one last time before many part to go to summer camps and then onto kindergarten.  Aid will be one of the ones that stays at Mercy's Childcare Center through the summer, but come mid-August the BIG school awaits!   We had some very nice conversation with his teachers and they felt confident that our big guy will continue to make a splash at the next level.  We'll keep challenging him and he'll continue to show us truly how smart he is...

So, first let's do some pictures from the day:

The Graduating Class of 2012  :)

Then and Now...what a big guy he's become.

A collage of some art and the "Career of the Day".  If you read close, it says that, "I want to work at a car dealership when I grow up."  Oh OK, whatever you say Aid.  :)

The Watermelons are ready to sing!

Our songbird front and center!

The Graduate!

I had to do some touch up on his mouth, the lower right center tooth is about 90% out and he keeps pushing it forward with this tongue so it looks all snaggle-tooth.  Trust me, by Monday, it'll be gone!  First Tooth!

Aidan and quite possibly the best teachers we've ever experienced, either in our schooling or the boys, Miss Gina and Miss Amy.

Proud Mom and Dad of our lil Graduate!

Number 1 and Number 2 Wingman...looking good!

Auntie Elizabeth even came to see the graduate!

OK, now here's the fun part!....The whole ceremony...just for the Grammies and Grandpa's!!  Enjoy!  10 points to who can pick out the annoying as all get out Grandma who was far, far away oblivious to her actions. Ugh.  Also, I wasn't in the jungle taping, just stuck behind this monster tree in the atrium of their school. Sorry!!!

Next is Aidan's announcement by JoAnn the director.

Afterwards, to celebrate Daddy's birthday and Aidan's graduation we headed to the casino for some all-you-can-eat crab legs....they were goooood!!

The boys had a special graduation cupcake from "Pastries of Denmark" for dessert.  They mostly ate the frosting, but oh well!

Thanks for reading tonight and congratulations again to Mr. Aidan...our big Grad with a big future ahead!

Have a great night,
Ty, Emmy, Ethan and "The Graduate" :)
