Aidan's First Baseball Game....That's a Winner!!

I'll tell you what....we had a great time tonight! This baby brings us such joy and excitement and he was just so much fun to be with at tonight's game. First off, THEY WON!!! 9-4. There was a home run, a pitcher hitting a double and the Pirates walking in a run with the bases loaded!!

But I digress, the real story of the night was none other than Mr. Aidan.

So the new Busch Stadium is really great, they allow you to bring in food, so Emmy and I packed a dinner to go along with our ballpark hot dogs. Sure enough, after the first pitch was thrown and we were getting ready to go to our seats, here comes the Cardinals mascot, Fredbird. He was taking pictures with some kids and Emmy said to me, "Boy wouldn't it be cool if he came over here.", I said, "Forget that, we're going to HIM!". So we packed up quick and the rest is history. Just amazing these shots, Aidan seems to be in la-la land but that's OK, these will be classics when he gets older....Gosh I'm so happy that we got these shots!!!

Once we got down to our seats, which were in the outfield bleachers (Like I said in last year's blog entry, they are the BEST seats in the house), Mr. Aidan was just having a ball. All the lights, sounds, and action of a game and he just took it all in with a HUGE smile! The Cardinals have people taking pictures for sale, so they took our picture and you can see it here. Here's some pics of him having a great time with Mom and Dad!











So, the Cardinals have a Birthday wish website that you can write a short statement that will shown on the scoreboard during the middle of the 4th inning. We were down at the concessions when I remembered it so I ran up quick to see if my statement to Aidan was on the big board. To my UNBELIEVABLE surprise...there it was. I've done this at every game we've been to so far and never got it on the board....but today there it was second from the top: "Aidan Luv U! Mom & Dad!" And I was so nervous taking the pictures...then I find out I took them in some weird setting on our camera and in the preview I couldn't tell if they were fuzzy or not...then we got home, uploaded them and Viola! They're perfect.



So of course after so much excitement, Mr. A was ready to go down for a nap. So Daddy held him tight amongst the rowdy, whistling, beer baffoons behind us and we went to sleep very nicely. Then they hit a home run and fireworks started exploding right over our heads....and Baby Aidan just opened his eyes, looked around, smiled and went back to sleep.



What a great baby...what a great night. Thank you for letting me share it with you. Tonight we go to sleep with joy, excitement and thanks (that he's here, happy and healthy)....and hope you do as well.
