I'm dreaming of a White Easter!

Aidan Cottontail and Family - Easter 2008

Typical Easters are those with outdoor Easter egg hunts, spring clothes (sometimes shorts), lots of sun and warmth and plenty of blooming trees, flowers and grass.....
Not this year folks!
Being that Easter was the earliest its been for a long time (92 years to be exact), and it won't come this early again until the year 2228, it had to do something crazy here today right? Yep...it snowed...a lot. None stuck to the ground, but if it had, I'd say we easily would have gotten 2 or 3 inches. There were times where it was snowing so hard I couldn't see the houses across the street. Not only did it snow a bunch, but it also snowed some of the biggest flakes that we have ever seen. Some were the size of quarters or bigger. Here's a shot during peak "big flake" time.

Despite all the weird weather, and the fact that ALL the grocery stores were closed (we had to drive 25 miles to a Super Wal-Mart (yuck!) for groceries, we should have known better), we still did have a great day.

Here is Aidan this morning coming out of his room and seeing that the Easter Bunny had indeed come. Thank you to all the grandparents, great-grandparents and Auntie's and family for all your gracious gifts...you spoil our little man so much! And he loves you for it!

The Easter Bunny loves books, especially Aidan's favorite touch and feel kind! And sporting his new backpack while playing with is "Chicken Dance" duck! (See video at the bottom for more on this guy!)

We're walking everywhere now...and getting better about standing up without holding on to something too!

Playing peek-a-boo with you know who.....Elmo!!

Finally tonight, Aidan doing the Chicken Dance (almost!) with his Chicken Dance Duck!

The recipe this week is an old time favorite, we call it Shrimpy Pasta and it is a great dish for an outdoor dinner (which hopfully we'll be able to do sooner than later here in Missouri)!

Hope you had an enjoyable Easter!

SOOOOOO Cute! He did make out this year! The video was adorable and so glad that we could share in the excitement of finding eggs and stuffing them in his basket! I can't believe that he is doing so great at walking...

Glad you had a good Easter....the warm weather will be here soon. Until then, Aidan has a chance to get better at walking so that when he goes outside he can investigate on two feet.

Have a great week!
Love,
