Awesome Weekend!

Well, we've finally ended my first week as a 30-something, and if you've read through my posts this week, we've just about covered every gamut of emotion and experience. Humbly, fortunately and very thankfully, Aidan has defeated the virus that caused all the problems on Tuesday. Today and yesterday, he was back to his normal self, being fun, eating well, and finally getting rid of that darn fever!

The weather here this weekend was superb. After having fun with his neighborhood friends on Friday, we headed into the big city for the baseball game on Saturday! We were out in our favorite part of the park (the bleachers), but unfortunately, at mid-day, it was so sunny and hot. Soooo....we left the game early in the 7th inning when the Cardinals were up 8-4, come to find out, they gave up 4 runs in the last 2 innings, but ended up winning the game 9-8 on a walk-off home run in the 10th inning! So, that makes Aidan 5-1 all time in his appearances at Cardinal's games! Woo-hoo Aidan!

Here's some pics:

First up, after parking at Uncle Bill's (Auntie Elizabeth's dad) Parking Lot, we stopped before entering the stadium to have some "cheaper" eats. Sure a hot dog was 2 bucks, but that's WAY better that 4.50 inside the stadium. Aidan had his first hot dog, chopped up excessively (hot dogs are the #1 thing kids choke on) outside the park.

Yum, hot dogs....and ready to root on a Cardinals win!

Smiling big for Dadda and sporting his Albert Pujols #5 T-shirt watching the big kids hit in the batting cages in the Family Pavilion section of Busch Stadium

Because we went to the early game, we made it home in time for dinner. Mamma grilled up some fantastic shish-kabobs with Uncle Don's famous shrimp skewers. Aidan got into the action eating really well with a spoon....awesome. Check out too, his Albert Pujols plate (that was the promotion at the game! We always get tickets during the promotion events!)

Eat up that rice, Mister!

Today, we absolutely had to head to church to thank God for keeping our baby healthy this week. Next it was on to the daily Sunday chores and lunch. Mommy headed out to her friend Tracy's Baby Shower, so it was "Boys Day!"

Dadda got Aidan down for a good nap and was able to mow the yard (again, 2nd time in 2 days!). But boy does it look great....obsessive yard picture below:

Next, we washed up Dadda's car for the big trip to Tennessee next weekend (got to take the smaller jet due to gas prices, ugh). After that, because it was so nice, I decided to get the bikes out and take Aid for a ride. It's been a long time since he'd been in his capsule and last time he was barely big enough to sit in it....lot's changed since then folks. This time, he fit perfectly and really had a ball cruising around the neighborhood.

Hey! I'm Aidan, in a capsule....and "All Done!"

Mommy made it back and cooked up some steaks (thanks Uncle Mike!), baked potatoes and Caesar salad...yum. Here he is being funny man on the deck afterwards!

Nice smile...nice shades dude!

Afterwards we took a walk around the block (I had promised Allie after we ditched her earlier for the bike ride). She loves walks, and I love this first picture....Aidan walking Allie! Put 'em to work I say!

Aidan the Dog Walker and "More" please!

I can't tell you how thankful we are that the events of this week have turned out to be nothing more than a big scare....thank you to all of you who thought of us during that time, we really do appreciate you!

P.S.: New Recipe of the week for my man, TR (who has discovered a taste for fish) is the Sweet-Spicy Baked Salmon with Brown Sugar Sweet Potatoes. Very good and from Cooking Light!

What a big guy! Last year he was at games in the bjorn, and this year he walks! Amazing how fast it all goes.

Sounds like a nice weekend... We are upset at our house about "regular" life. Oh well!

I just read your post about Aidan's trip to the emergency room, and I'm so glad to hear that he's doing better. So scary! I hope everything is going great for you guys. Take care!
