The Trip to Southwest Florida 2008!

Hey we're back....

The Tour of Aidan 2008 has made its way to Florida and back again.

All in all, it was a great trip...got to see everyone we needed to see and spend some time by ourselves being a family. Took over 300 pictures, so definite stories and memories were made!

Here we go!

First, I can't say enough about the kindness that Grammy P's employer gave to us by allowing us to stay in their beautiful home. It was amazing and we really enjoyed staying there. Here are a few shots of their home and of Aidan having fun.

.
A beautiful home and us, right before leaving for Missouri
.
.
In the living room and our gift to the Heron's for letting us stay in their vacation home.

.
This is the kitchen and main TV room, gorgeous!

-
In the back, we loved playing in the pool on the lanai.

Aidan having fun with the waterfall from the spa tub to the main pool.

-
Auntie Elizabeth brought Aidan back an authentic Hawaiian outfit when she went to Hawaii last month for her birthday. Sooo....we had to get Mr. A posing by a palm tree.

-
Having fun with Daddy and Mommy in the pool!
-
-
Having breakfast on Saturday morning!
-
Next, we were able to visit my Grandma Carol, who we all call "Ne-Ne" twice. Once with her two sisters that flew down to see her and once all by herself for dinner. Ne-Ne has pulmonary fibrosis, so she's on a continous oxygen feed, so that was a change for us to see. But we thought that she was doing great and she was telling stories and jokes all night long.
-
-
Here we are with her sisters Phyllis and Nanette.

On Saturday, we went and visited my Uncle Mike, Aunt Jacki, Godson Colin, and cousins Cora and Chloe. Also, my Grandpa Ervin (Everyone else calls him Ernie, I called him Bert (because I didn't like Ernie on Sesame Street!)) came over. Grandpa Bert has also been on the downs, but I'll tell you, he was just like the Grandpa of old when we were there. Cracking jokes and just being a great guy!

Aidan definitely found a buddy in Mr. Colin. They walked all over the house and played with Colin's old toys, especially the garbage truck!

-
A hug and walking around with his buddy, Colin.
-
-
Playing Peek-A-Boo and Godfather, Godson and Son...smiling big!
-
-
Playing trains with Uncle Mike and smiling with Uncle Mike and Aunt Jacki

-
Posing at the pool with Chloe and Colin and all the kids on the couch, Chloe, Cora, Aidan and Colin
Sunday, we headed over to my other aunt and uncle's home, Troy and Michelle and their two daugthers, Sofia and Emma. Those girls LOVED Aidan. They played tea with him, had him sit in their "king" chair and read him books. And they had a pool too, so it was more pool time!
-
-
Aidan hanging out with the ladies and all the fam, Michelle, Emma, Sofia, Troy, and the FFA
-
-
Having fun in the pool and having a tea party with the girls.
-
-
Finally, having fun coloring with Troy at dinner.
-
Monday, we headed out to the beach...Bonita Beach to be exact. We found a nice spot to set down and Daddy and Aidan headed into the Gulf of Mexico. Mommy stayed ashore (she's not a fan of water she can't see things swimming around in) and took these pictures.
-
-
One of those feet get are a little bigger since the last picture I took....and the FFA at Bonita Beach!
-
-
I love this picture, it makes me think of Aidan and his future. Looking out across the vast sea, challenges unknown, voyages not taken, memories to be made.
-
-
Beach bum! (Nice tan, dude!)
-
-
Aidan wasn't too big a fan of the sand...as you can tell by his facial expressions.
-
-
Daddy and Aidan heading out to sea!
-
After having a great lunch on the beach at Doc's, we headed back for a quick nap and then off to Ne-Ne's for dinner. Ne-Ne LOVED Aidan, they played and played and played. Every time he'd fall down and start to cry, she'd say "Call the Doctor!" and pick him up and give him a kiss on the cheek. How funny!
-
-
The grounds around Ne-Ne's condo are beautiful. Also, here's a cool shot of Ft. Myers with a big thunderstorm in the background.
-
-
Smiling big with Ne-Ne...
-
-
Oh how they played....so glad she got to meet Mr. A
-
Tuesday, we had a free day just to go and have fun. We first decided to hit the outlet malls. Emmy got a great deal on a Coach purse that had her just tickled!
-
-
Posing at a few fountains at the outlet malls.
-
After a good nap, we headed north to Sanibel Island and then Captiva Island to have dinner at the very famous restaurant, The Mucky Duck and watch the sun set into the Gulf. Here are a few of the breathtaking shots of the sunset.
-
Going......going.....
Going.....going.....
Gone!
-
-
The Frost's on the beach at Captiva Island, Florida!
-
-
Well all good things must come to an end and we had a very uneventful flight back to St. Louis last night. Aidan played peek-a-boo with the lady behind us and watched Elmo.
Here he is watching the jets at the airport and the final sunset falling on our 2008 Trip to Southwest Florida!

I have to give thanks to everyone, The Heron's, Mike, Jacki, Troy, Michelle, Grandpa Bert and Ne-Ne for your hospitality, your gifts, your time and your love for us! We so, so enjoyed seeing you all. We enjoyed every single second and just hope that we can meet again soon. Until then, the blog with always be on, so I hope that you'll continue to watch our family grow. Looks like a fun trip! I am glad all went well and that the hurricanes didn't put a damper on it!

The word lanai reminds me of The Golden Girls... I love that show.

I am now itching for a trip to a coach outlet!!!!

Thanks for taking us on your trip with you! We had a good time :)
