We had a banner day on Saturday! Aidan is really big into trains right now, huge big. So we headed down to the Missouri Botanical Garden and saw their Gardenland Express model train exhibit. They take a room that is at least 2,000 square feet, and put up all sorts of model train layouts using poinsetta's and other real plants as the fauna around the scenes. It's really quite cool and Aidan was definitely in "Railroad Heaven" watching all the trains drive around. Here are some pictures from the Gardens!
Real plants as scenery and on the ice skating rink, the figurines really moved!

Finally a quick video of the trains in action!!

Afterwards, we stopped and were going to watch real trains at a train yard off of I-44 in South St. Louis. To our surprise, there was a BIG train just starting to go. The train engineer saw us there watching and waved to Aidan, then started "dinging" the train bell and then let out two BIG horn blows! It was awesome, as we were sooo close to the engine such that the pure power of them were shaking our car!

As you can tell, Daddy was pretty darn excited. Mommy only had to tell him to calm down once ;) Side Story: when Daddy was a kid, his Dad/Mom/Grandparents/Uncles/Aunts/etc
...used to race him to see train go by as soon as he heard the whistle blow. It didn't matter what we were doing, we'd always go after the train!! And so it begins again. :)

Aidan, however, was frozen, he just looked at those engines and all the cars as they started going by with awe. It was really great...after a few minutes he started saying...."Choo-Chuck" which is his current word for train. How fun, I'll tell you guys, it was pretty darn fun!

Sounds like such fun!!! Yes, I believe that your 2nd Christmas was the year that Grandpa T and Grandma Nancy had the Little Tikes Train in the basement for you when you woke up on Christmas Morning in Ostrander! You were crazy over trains too Tyler...and still are! Then it went to Airplanes....
The train exhibit looks awesome. So glad that Aidan got to see it with his Mommy and Daddy....He is a doll baby! Can't wait to get there for some hugs and kisses!
Love you all,
Mom
PS: Remember your ride on the Steam Engine Train???
Looks like so much fun! The Bricker Boys are both in love with trains too... Tristan is a bit more obsessed than Keiran. We toot toot all day long.
Have you seen the Thomas the Tank Engine that you can ride on? We did it when we were in Indy with Keiran and plan to do it next year when it comes to CO... It is a LOT of fun and it is kind of weird to see Thomas like he is REAL.
