A Big Two Year Checkup!

Aidan had his 2 year checkup with Dr. Mayer. He is doing so good...wow, we are just so happy how well he is growing both physically and developmentally. Here's the particulars of his growth (the 18 month is in green). -

Head Circumference: 50cm (80th percentile)

Height: 34 1/2" (50.75 percentile) (31 1/2" in July)

Weight: 26 lbs 8 oz (30th percentile) (24 lbs 9oz in July)

Now, the awesome stuff. Developmentally, Aidan is doing amazing, heck even we were amazed.

Last July, he knew roughly 37 words. Now, he knows at least 100 words, is putting together 3 and 4 word sentences, knows every color, can sing his ABCs, and can count to ten (almost)! Our pediatrician uses the Denver Development Screening Test to assess the little guys and gals and Aidan now is scoring, developmentally, as a 2 year 10 month year old.

On the test, there is a question that asks the child to name one friend (not a member of our family)....Aidan named five. We had never asked him this question before...so needless to say, I was and am very impressed. Had he been able to put on an article of clothing or copy a straight line on a piece of paper, he would have been 3...but for now, we love our little 2 year old!

Here's some pictures of him tonight playing trains....he finally allowed us to put on the full train outfit...and...he learned how to blow his train whistle!! Choo-choo!
