Here's the story; I picked up Mommy from work and headed to Dr. Thompson's office for the 8:30AM appointment. I was running a little late (as usual) so I dropped off Mommy at the front door so she could run up and check in. Luckily (for me), the last Mommy's-to-be parking spot was left, so I swung the car in there. Fortunately, no one was around because as small as the parking garage is at St. Luke's somebody would have complained that a single man was parking in the Mommy's-to-be spot!!!
Anyways, we made it in right away to the ultrasound room. The tech asked us if we wanted to know what the baby was going to be, to which of course we said "yes!" After many, many standard measurements (spine, brain, heart, femur, belly), which all had the baby ranging from 19 weeks 2 days to 19 weeks 4 days (Mommy right now is technically 19 weeks 2 days). This was absolutely perfect...spot on! The baby has a three vessel umbilical cord (normal) and his heart was beating perfectly, with all four chambers moving in proper sync. Emmy and I were just wowed by the heart...just amazing that a child that is 19 weeks has a nearly fully developed heart that is working hard to nourish his body with blood. Amazing guys...even after seeing it before with Aidan...just amazing.
A funny thing happened when we were looking for the heart chambers. We were focused around the bottom of his chin when we saw these tiny little appendages come up to his mouth...and then they went into his mouth! He was sucking on his fingers right there!! Amazing it was.
So next it was on to finding out the gender. The ultrasound tech asked us again if we wanted to know....heck yeah we said! So after just a few seconds of searching, I said, "uh...I saw that." And sure enough, the baby #2 was a boy. I knew it all along...just had that feeling. We had decided on the name weeks ago for the boy and were still on the fence for a girl (Audrey or Lauren). So all worked out well. The baby is in perfect health, Emmy is in perfect health and we have ourselves a squadron of boys, Ty, Aid and "E". How great it is, thank the Lord for his amazing gifts!
Here is the ultrasound pictures that they gave us and since they are typically really hard to visualize, I added some lines to the pictures on the right to help you understand what you are looking at:

Looking directly on to his face, the eye looks a little freaky, like the robot from the Terminator movies...euck.

And finally the money shot....there is no denying...this baby is a BOY!

All in all, both Emmy and I are very happy. Neither of us had an official preference of what we wanted, but unofficially, we did want a boy. We have seen how well her cousins Trey and Josh get along and how they are really good to each other and their parents, Dawna and Tommy. We thought that by having two only 2.5 years apart, they would get along better than say, my brother Spencer and I got along when we were kids (we were 4 years apart...which was perfect fightin' age span!) So, all in all, sorry Grammy's and Aunt Natalie on your girl wishes...we are in the boy making business here at the Frost Family Adventure. :)
