Ethan's Place

Mommy and Daddy have worked so hard over the last four days and nights to finally make this new baby thing seem more and more like a reality. It is amazing how just one week ago, this room was filled with books, computer stuff and green walls! Now, it has become.....

Ethan Thomas' Room!!!!

We really went fun with this room. I call it the "Willy Wonka" Room, since it's like a mix of dark and light chocolate. I kept singing, "Come with me, and you'll see...a world of pure imagination." and got Aidan BIG time into the Oompa Loompas, he's already got the chorus down (more to come later on that.)

We knew starting out that the bed set (courtesy of Grammy P) was multi-colored, but heavy in dark brown. Being that a dark brown room would be like a dungeon, we altered it up a bit with the chair rail and offsetting light and medium browns. The stripes were a task, but once I got them taped, it was pretty easy. It's funny, both of the most finished and most well decorated rooms in our house are those of our kids...I think it's just a fun way for us to be more expressive and creative because it's a kids room and not a "grown up" space. We ordered the decals that are all over the wall as well as a lamp for his dresser (not here yet) as well as something that Daddy is making (not done yet), but overall we're almost done!
