Ever had one of those weekends where you just were busy all the time, but really didn't get anything done or for the most part didn't do anything constructive? Well, that was our weekend. I think Emmy and I are pretty much spent with only bills being paid, a mowed lawn and memories of a nice Saturday night with Auntie Elizabeth to show for it.
Aidan had been really fussy mid week with a few up in the middle of the night session. Usually it indicates getting sick and sure enough Friday night he popped up on the radar screen with a 101.4F temp. Knowing his febrile seizure history (1 in May of 2008 for all those who don't know, see here), we basically stayed up with him all night because both Motrin and Tylenol weren't really "breaking" it. Fortunately, Saturday morning Motrin did help and it was off to the Doctor to have him tell me that he had a virus, well no duh. I guess we were just being cautious with Little E around.
We had planned on meeting Auntie Elizabeth for dinner at Cheesecake Factory, but the plans changed to carry out when Aid got sick. She brought all sorts of good eats and drinks for us and we were very happy to see her, and so were Aidan and Ethan Thomas!
Today all has been better, Aidan is better, Ethan is well, still a baby. Emmy told me tonight that she read that newborns can cry up to 6 hours a day! Yikes! I certainly respect Emmy for handling both Ethan and Aidan (when he's not at school) during the day. It's pretty intense when the little one is crying for no reason and the big one is running around crying because there is an ant crawling on his popcorn. Geesh.
We had a nice morning (weren't ready yet to brave the Church crowd), we walked over to the Elementary school near our house and played on their playground. Its stuff is a little advanced, but Aidan loved the slides. Then it was pretty much our normal day, capped off with some Hickory burgers, Caesar salad and locally grown corn, yum!
Sorry for the downer weekend, it's not typically what we do here, but for all our friends who have only one little rugrat, two definitely is challenging! Good luck to you!

They both are adorable! I am seeing that Ethan's eyes are still blue??? Wow, that is just adorable! Life does have times that things get crazy. Just remember, as quickly as it started, it will change. Before long Ethan will be content to sit and look around at his surroundings and Aidan will get that night thing down pat! Have faith my children :) So glad that Auntie Elizabeth could come and offer a diversion to the all of you! Thanks Auntie Elizabeth for all you do!!!!
