Victory!

Some of you may know that I had been fighting with a mole in our yard. He had been in the back yard for the last two years, but this year he decided to take it to another level...the front yard. Many of you also know that my pride and joy (other than Aidan and Mommy) is our lawn. See here for a great picture after the "Lawn Striper" was instituted. Anyways, when this little vermin decided to rip up my yard...it was ON! Astonishingly, he had survived poision peanuts, traps and a sonic mole chaser thingy, but what he didn't survive...oh no...was his own stupidity.

Here's the story: Emmy and Aidan had just gotten home and were looking at our tulips that just "popped" today. This was when Emmy noticed that the mulch was moving, up and down and side to side. I was up on the ladder putting our shutters back up after painting them. She said, "Ty, the ground is moving! The GROUND IS MOVING!!" My first thought was, snake or mole. Either way, it was going down. So I flew down the ladder and into the garage to grab the shovel. The rest is history....and so is my mole problem. Of all the places, during the absolute wrong time, he's gone. BTW they are highly territorial, usually one rules an area up to 1 acre, so I'm pretty confident that we'll be mole free for awhile!

Thanks for reading my mole story, I know I'm obsessive about the yard, but I love it and it looks great!

Now, for more interesting things. Aidan's vocabulary in the last 3 or 4 days has exploded. He's learned diaper, night night, grass, nose, eyes, mouth, Big Bird and some other word we can't figure out yet. Here he is tonight before bathtime reciting my new favorite word, diaper or "die-bit".
