Week 23 - A Large Mango!

Week Twenty-Three this week is here! Baby Ethan is, from crown to rump, the size of a large mango...which makes him about 1 lb in weight! His hearing is really getting keen now, as written here, he should be accustomed to sounds like Allie barking or the vacuum cleaner! Like with Aidan, we have the prenatal microphone (see here) attached to Mommy's belly every night so that either Daddy or Mommy can read to him...oh...and Aidan says good night and I love you every night to his big brother!

Anyways, Ethan's been kickin' like crazy this week. We have another appointment with Dr. Thompson on Friday to just check up on the little man and make sure all is well!

Today's Aidan part of the post is really two parts.

First, I have to tell you about something that Aidan said the other day. It truly, for me, defines how simple life is and how kids say things that sometimes defy all reason and all realism, but the statement is just so special and so applicable to the future life and future expectations that we as parents have for them.

So....we usually leave pretty early for work, and the other morning the moon was still visible and huge up in the sky.

Aidan turned to Mommy, pointed to the moon like he was trying to grab it and said, "Reach Mommy, Reach!" How simple but how true. Our goal as parents is encourage Aidan (and Ethan) to reach, to try for things that we know may not be possible, but yet nothing is impossible, with love, encouragement, and drive, even Aidan can "reach" the moon. Awesome. Just awesome.

Ok, now that we got the sentimental moment, let's move on to Valentine's Day! Grammy P and Jim got their present to Aidan here early, so we had to open it right?? Grammy was afraid that Daddy wouldn't like all the racket with the toy, but really because it has a volume switch and doesn't play for minutes upon end, it's actually a pretty cool toy. I especially like the green button which plays "Message in a Bottle" by the Police, if you wondering the other songs it plays, see here. Cool gift, thanks P and Jim!

Here's Aidan playing tonight and a video of him opening the box and playing.....he knew exactly what it was and we've never talked about a guitar before!

-
Playing the guitar and getting serious with the finger work!
-
-
He can even play it vertically!!! and "getting down" with his bad self!!

Here's the video, enjoy!

Have a great night all,

Ty, Emmy, Ethan and Aidan Ray Vaughn

Awe, so cute! That Grammy P, she just knows the cutest stuff to get our big boy! He will love that guitar! Now, I think Daddy needs to get "Guitar Hero" for the WII! Then Aidan and Daddy can "make music" together ;-)

Glad to hear Ethan is kicking and having fun! Poor Mommy!!!

Love to all!
