Triple Post Night!

Where have we been?  Three weeks and no posts?  What's up with that?

Well, let's do three weeks worth of postings tonight!

Week 1:

Well, Aid's at it again, this time soccer goes indoors at Vetta Sports. They have quite the indoor complex with two complete fields.  He's having a good time of course, and his brother, well, he's not quite the age yet for soccer. So its up to the parents to keep him at bay during the 45 minute camp session.

As I'm sitting here tonight, we're in the coolest weather of the fall but three weeks ago the weather was very warm, the boys played outside while Daddy put up the Christmas lights....see end of post for the unveiling!

Much of the week a few ago was to plan and prepare for our final trip of the year, the trip back to Ohio for Grandpa Bert's funeral.  Grandpa died back in January, but the logistics of it all pushed back the formal ceremony until the weekend before this one.  While we never like having to come together in this way, it was very nice to see everyone again!

Blue and Tan Seats, Powdered Sugar Lips, that can only mean one thing, Southwest Airlines and Dunkin' Donuts...our travel staples!

We were quite pressed on time and had to get to Fremont, Ohio as fast as we could to make the Mass.  But, we made it, just in time and all went off without a hitch!  At the reception, we got to see many of Grandpa's old friends and to see a very nice slideshow that my Uncle put together on Grandpa.  It was pretty amazing to see him in the days before I was born.  All in all, a very nice time remembering someone very close to me, my brother and sister and of course my Mom and her brothers and all who knew Grandpa Bert!

Grammy T and Aunt Natalie are coming to STL for Christmas, but due to flying with bags, we decided do some Christmas fun back at her place. Ethan is a Christmas-package-tear-er-uppper!!!

Uncle Spencer had never met Ethan before, so he made the most of his time helping him put together his Lego Duplo Police Station. 

And Daddy and Aunt Natalie helped Aidan with the little Legos!

The next day, we headed over to see my Grandma Nancy who lives in a very nice assisted living place in Findlay, her birthday is in a few weeks so we decided to surprise her!

The boys loved playing with my Uncle Mike.  He's quite the funny guy and they laughed and laughed at all his silliness!

Happy Birthday Grandma!  It was sooooo good to see you and talk with you again!

Our whirlwind tour of Ohio wouldn't be complete without a jaunt over to Emmy's neck of the woods to see her Dad and Grandparents.  First, it was Grandpa John who we met for lunch and then killed some time at the New Towne Mall ("It's a great time anytime") playing on the coin operated machine and throwing coins into the mall's fountains!

Finally we stopped in and said "hi' to Emmy's Grandpa Bud and Grandma June.  They were quite excited to see us and we loved the opportunity to sit and visit.  Aidan got to read Grandma a book, which he did no problem; that's because he's a reader and can read everything. :)   And Grandma made Daddy his very most favorite, cherry pie, which was, as always, outstanding.  I would have taken it home had we not flown!  Aunt Susie came over and brought presents...more presents!?!   Yep, the boys tend to get spoiled on Ohio vacations!

Can't wait until Christmas with Ethan, he's going to do great with presents!

Our flight back to St. Louis was a little rocky, we had a 94 year old guy have medical problems during the flight that put us in Indy for an hour or so unplanned.  The boys were toast by the time we got to STL and so were we...

This past week and weekend, Papa Steve, came over from Findlay to have Thanksgiving with us!  He was quite excited to spend time with the boys again, and we too were excited to show him all the things we had done with the house since the last time he was here.

Beautiful warm day here on Turkey Day, which made frying the turk so much more enjoyable.  Emmy put out an unbelievable spread of homemade noodles, sweet potatoes, corn, stuffing, cranberries, rolls, and the topper, Paula Deen's Pumpkin Bars (which were awesome). 

Since Papa Steve, won't be in for Christmas, we did Christmas with him!  The boys loved all their items and by now had really good practice for ripping into those gifts!

Check out Mookie's face, he LOVES the Melissa and Doug Birthday Cake set. He went around singing "Happy Birthday" all evening!

Black Friday was more like Florida Friday with temperatures here in the upper 60s.  We headed to the Holiday Express Train Show at the Missouri Botanical Gardens.  While the trains were pretty underwhelming, the scenery around the garden was still beautiful.  The boys loved running around and playing with Papa Steve.  Afterwards, we took him to our new fav, Fitz's All-American Restaurant, home of Fitz's Root Beeer!

More change hit's the water fountain...the boys are certainly on the throwing the change kick!

Was a beautiful fall day....too bad today winter's knocking on the door with flurries here. 

 We got to see them running the line filling up bottles with Cream Soda....it always amazes me the way things used to be done!

Papa Steve headed home Saturday and we went into full throttle Christmas mode.  From lights to trees to of course, TRAINS!!!

The track needed a little work this year, so all day Saturday I re-set it and now it is working great!

Aid loves the trains, I love he's playing with the ones that aren't very nice on the hard concrete floor, the nice ones were put out of sight. :)

Christmas decoration night can only mean one thing, "Elmo's Christmas Countdown", a Frost Family Favorite!

We're really in the spirit this year, putting up a tree in the basement complete with, you guessed it, the third train (this one the one from Grandma June and Grandpa Bud got us.  Thanks guys!)

I always love capturing the tree, just by itself lighting up the room...awesome!

And now the house, complete and ready for Santa.  Two new inflatables now will welcome him too!  Hope he can find us!!
